Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events within the SIEM environment to identify potential threats and suspicious activity.
- Assist in the investigation of security incidents, including log analysis and correlation of data.
- Support the maintenance and configuration of firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct basic vulnerability assessments and help remediate identified security gaps.
- Participate in security awareness training programs and assist in creating documentation for internal teams.
- Collaborate with IT staff to ensure secure configuration of servers and workstations.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and defense strategies through continuous learning.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPNs).
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and Linux (command line experience is a plus).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and learn new technologies quickly.
- CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification (or willingness to obtain) is highly preferred.
