Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and analyze system logs for suspicious activity using SIEM tools like Splunk or QRadar.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing efforts for client networks.
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed reports for the security operations center.
- Support the IT team with day-to-day technical troubleshooting and hardware maintenance.
- Participate in security awareness training programs and incident response drills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Strong interest in cybersecurity, networking, and data privacy.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPN).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Willingness to obtain industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+) within the first year.
