Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Systems: Observe network traffic and system alerts to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities in real-time.
- Incident Logging: Document security events and incidents accurately in the security information and event management (SIEM) system.
- Assist with Audits: Support internal and external security audits by gathering required documentation and preparing evidence.
- Policy Adherence: Help ensure that company data handling policies and security protocols are followed by all employees.
- Threat Analysis: Learn to analyze patterns in cyber-attacks to help strengthen our defenses against future intrusions.
- Vendor Communication: Communicate with third-party security vendors regarding software updates and patch management.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field is a plus but not mandatory.
- Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of computers, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and network concepts.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot anomalies and errors in data and logs with high precision.
- Problem Solving: Strong logical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report findings clearly.
- Self-Starter: Willingness to learn new technologies and complete required cybersecurity certifications independently.
