Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Systems: Analyze logs and alerts from SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats and suspicious activities.
- Incident Response Support: Assist senior analysts in triaging and responding to security incidents and breaches.
- Network Defense: Help configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Vulnerability Management: Participate in vulnerability scanning and patch management processes to ensure system integrity.
- Security Awareness: Create and distribute security awareness content to educate staff on phishing and social engineering threats.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of security incidents, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Technical Basics: Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and basic operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Passion for Security: A genuine interest in cybersecurity, malware analysis, or ethical hacking (even if self-taught).
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and learn new tools quickly.
- Certifications: Security+ or CompTIA Network+ is a plus, but not required for this entry-level position.
