The Role
You will be responsible for monitoring security events, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents in real-time. This is a hands-on role where your work directly impacts our clients' security posture.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats.
- Perform routine vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support for internal and external systems.
- Document security incidents, incident response procedures, and maintain accurate logs in the ticketing system.
- Assist in the configuration and maintenance of firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct security awareness training for internal staff and support compliance audits (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2).
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and OSI model.
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows and Linux) and command-line interfaces.
- Familiarity with security concepts such as encryption, authentication, and access control.
- Willingness to obtain industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+).
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
