In this role, you will play a vital role in protecting our organization's infrastructure from cyber threats. You will work closely with senior analysts to monitor security events, respond to incidents, and implement best practices for data protection.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Events: Analyze alerts and logs from SIEM tools to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in real-time.
- Incident Response: Assist in the detection, containment, and remediation of cybersecurity incidents and security breaches.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments to ensure systems are up to date with the latest security patches.
- Security Policy Implementation: Help enforce and update internal security policies and procedures to comply with industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Traffic Analysis: Monitor network traffic for anomalies and assist in troubleshooting security-related issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ is highly preferred; willingness to obtain certifications is required.
- Networking Knowledge: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and network protocols.
- Operating Systems: Familiarity with Linux and Windows server environments and command-line interfaces (Bash, PowerShell).
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
