Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM dashboards to identify and triage security alerts
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Document security incidents using NIST framework
- Implement basic firewall configurations and access controls
- Participate in tabletop incident response exercises
- Conduct security awareness training for non-technical staff
- Assist with compliance audits (ISO 27001, GDPR)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (degree preferred but not required)
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, OSI model)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to obtain DoD-approved security clearance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to relocate to Chicago area
