Responsibilities
- Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Investigate and document potential security incidents with senior analysts
- Assist in implementing security controls and patch management
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing support
- Contribute to incident response playbooks and security documentation
- Stay current on emerging threats through ongoing training
- Participate in tabletop exercises and security drills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification preferred
- Fundamental knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
- Familiarity with NIST frameworks and compliance standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments
