Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security systems to detect potential threats, intrusions, and anomalies in real-time.
- Assist in the triage, investigation, and resolution of security incidents and tickets.
- Perform vulnerability scanning and configure security settings on servers and endpoints.
- Support the maintenance of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and anti-virus systems.
- Document security events, incidents, and procedures in the SIEM and ticketing systems.
- Conduct basic penetration testing simulations and security audits under supervision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, OSI Model, DNS, and HTTP.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and command line interfaces.
- Knowledge of security concepts such as encryption, hashing, and authentication.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Certifications such as Security+, Network+, or CompTIA ITF+ are preferred but not required.
