Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) for anomalous network traffic and security incidents
- Investigate and respond to phishing attacks, malware outbreaks, and unauthorized access attempts
- Conduct vulnerability assessments using Nessus, Qualys, and Burp Suite
- Assist in implementing NIST 800-53 security controls and compliance frameworks
- Document security incidents using MITRE ATT&CK methodology and playbooks
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines
- Participate in threat hunting exercises using threat intelligence feeds
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent military experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or GIAC GSEC certification preferred
- Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and common network protocols
- Basic scripting skills in Python or PowerShell for automation tasks
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows system administration principles
- Understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance within 90 days of hire
