Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Investigate security alerts and document incident reports
- Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Support implementation of security controls and best practices
- Collaborate with IT teams on security policy development
- Stay updated on emerging threats and security trends
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or within 6 months)
- Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Familiarity with security tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite)
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
