Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and analyze potential threats
- Document security incidents and participate in forensic investigations under guidance
- Assist with vulnerability scanning and patch management processes
- Support compliance initiatives including NIST and ISO frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Participate in tabletop exercises and security awareness training
- Stay updated on emerging threats and security technologies
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
