Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Assist in incident response investigations and documentation
- Perform vulnerability scanning and penetration testing support
- Analyze network traffic patterns to identify potential threats
- Create and maintain security documentation and reports
- Collaborate with senior analysts on security awareness campaigns
- Participate in tabletop exercises and security drills
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Ability to work rotating shifts for 24/7 operations coverage
- U.S. citizenship required for government contract work
