Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and investigate potential threats
- Analyze network traffic and log data to identify anomalous activities
- Assist with incident response documentation and remediation procedures
- Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration testing under supervision
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture
- Stay current on emerging threats and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Familiarity with NIST frameworks and compliance standards
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Experience with Windows/Linux command-line operations
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (sponsorship available)
