Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing under supervision
- Analyze malware samples and document threat intelligence findings
- Assist in incident response procedures and forensic investigations
- Implement and maintain security controls for cloud and on-premise environments
- Document security policies and procedures in compliance with NIST frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate identified security gaps
- Participate in tabletop exercises and security awareness training
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Familiarity with network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS)
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows/Linux) and cloud platforms
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Passion for continuous learning and staying current with emerging threats
