Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Document security incidents and assist with forensic investigations
- Implement security controls and maintain compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch systems and mitigate threats
- Participate in security awareness training and phishing simulations
- Research emerging threats and contribute to security documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Understanding of common security tools (Wireshark, Burp Suite, Metasploit)
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Eligibility for US government clearance (if required)
