Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) for security anomalies and potential threats
- Investigate and document security incidents using NIST and MITRE frameworks
- Coordinate incident response activities with cross-functional teams
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing simulations
- Generate detailed security reports and executive summaries
- Collaborate with threat intelligence teams on emerging attack vectors
- Implement and maintain security controls (IDS/IPS, firewalls, EDR)
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with SOC operations focus
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools and network security protocols
- Strong understanding of Windows/Linux environments and cloud platforms
- Experience with incident response playbooks and forensic tools
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for incident documentation
- Active DoD 8570 compliant certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
