Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) for security anomalies and threat indicators
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents with SOAR automation tools
- Perform threat hunting using MITRE ATT&CK framework techniques
- Collaborate with incident response teams during breach scenarios
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Generate executive-level security reports and threat intelligence briefings
- Develop playbooks for emerging threats like ransomware and APT groups
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years SOC experience with night shift or 24/7 operations
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ (required)
- Expertise in network forensics (Wireshark, tcpdump) and endpoint detection (EDR)
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Strong understanding of NIST 800-53 and ISO 27001 frameworks
- Ability to maintain situational awareness during high-pressure incidents
