Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk/QRadar) for 24/7 threat detection and incident response
- Conduct forensic investigations on security alerts and breaches
- Execute vulnerability assessments and penetration testing during off-peak hours
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and executive briefings
- Stay current on emerging threats and security best practices
- Participate in tabletop exercises and red team simulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in SOC operations or cybersecurity analysis
- Active CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC certification
- Proficiency in network security tools (Firewall, IDS/IPS, EDR)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, CrowdStrike)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud security
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
- Valid US driver's license for on-call rotations
