Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) for 24/7 threat detection and incident response
- Investigate security alerts using forensic tools (Wireshark, EnCase) and MITRE ATT&CK framework
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical infrastructure
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed audit trails for compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement proactive security measures
- Stay current with emerging threats via threat intelligence feeds (CrowdStrike, Recorded Future)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in SOC operations or incident response with night shift experience
- CISSP, CEH, or GIAC certifications (preferred)
- Expertise in network security protocols (TCP/IP, IDS/IPS, firewalls)
- Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation scripting
- Strong analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical incidents
- Valid U.S. government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
