Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts across SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) during night shift hours
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents including malware, phishing, and DDoS attacks
- Conduct forensic analysis of security breaches and compile detailed incident reports
- Collaborate with day-shift analysts for seamless threat intelligence sharing
- Implement and optimize security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Participate in quarterly red team exercises simulating advanced persistent threats
- Maintain compliance with NIST 800-53 and CMMC standards for protected systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with SOC analyst background
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CEH certification (required)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, packet analysis (Wireshark), and EDR platforms
- Experience with threat hunting methodologies and MITRE ATT&CK framework
- Ability to work independently during high-pressure night shift operations
- Strong written communication skills for incident reporting and handovers
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent network security certification
- Clearable background check for federal infrastructure work
