Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) during weekend shifts
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents with rapid containment procedures
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical infrastructure
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed compliance reports (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement zero-trust architecture solutions
- Conduct forensic analysis of security breaches and recommend preventive measures
- Stay current with emerging threats through continuous training and threat intelligence research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations with SOC/NOC experience
- Active CISSP, CISM, or Security+ certification (required)
- Proficiency in security tools: Splunk, Wireshark, Metasploit, and IDS/IPS systems
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and cloud security (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Valid US driver's license for occasional on-site security assessments
