Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents including malware analysis and log correlation
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and remediation plans for executive stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Stay current with emerging threats through continuous research and threat intelligence analysis
- Participate in red team exercises and penetration testing to validate security controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with SOC operations or incident response
- Active CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Proficiency in security tools: Splunk, Wireshark, Metasploit, and Nessus
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and container technologies
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation
