Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM (Splunk/QRadar) for security alerts and investigate anomalies
- Perform incident response procedures including containment, eradication, and recovery
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on weekend systems
- Document security incidents using SOAR platforms and maintain audit trails
- Collaborate with weekday analysts during handover transitions
- Stay current on emerging threats and mitigation strategies
- Participate in quarterly tabletop exercises and incident simulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in SOC operations or cybersecurity analysis
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight)
- Experience with IDS/IPS (Snort, Suricata) and EDR solutions
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and compliance standards
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- Excellent written communication for incident reporting
