Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity during weekend shifts
- Conduct incident response investigations and implement mitigation strategies
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop security protocols
- Generate comprehensive security reports for leadership review
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices
- Participate in weekend on-call rotations for critical incident response
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, Darktrace)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
- Valid US driver's license and ability to work onsite in Chicago
