Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms and detect/analyze security alerts during weekend shifts (Fri-Sun)
- Investigate potential threats using forensic tools and incident response protocols
- Collaborate with on-call engineers to mitigate active security incidents
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and remediation documentation
- Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration testing during low-traffic periods
- Stay updated on emerging threats via threat intelligence feeds
- Participate in quarterly cybersecurity drills and weekend-specific simulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations (SOC, NOC, or incident response)
- CISSP, CEH, or Security+ certification required (CompTIA Security+ acceptable)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and EDR platforms
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Knowledge of NIST frameworks and CIS controls
- Ability to work independently during high-pressure weekend incidents
- Valid U.S. government security clearance preferred
- Demonstrated experience with Windows/Linux environments
