Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts across SIEM platforms during weekend shifts
- Investigate and respond to security incidents with rapid incident playbooks
- Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration testing on critical systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and remediation documentation
- Stay current on emerging threats through continuous threat intelligence research
- Participate in weekend security drills and tabletop exercises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in security operations center (SOC) or incident response
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, or GIAC preferred
- Expertise in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and EDR platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security, and threat intelligence
- Experience with Windows/Linux systems and security hardening
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Valid US government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
