Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) during weekend shifts
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including malware outbreaks and intrusion attempts
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical systems
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks and incident reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current with emerging threats and vulnerabilities through continuous research
- Participate in weekend rotation drills and tabletop exercises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SOC operations
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in network security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud security
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during incident response
- Valid U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain one
