Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) during weekend shifts
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including malware outbreaks and intrusion attempts
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical systems
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident reports and playbooks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current on emerging threats and industry trends through continuous research
- Participate in weekend rotation on-call rotations for critical incident response
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in threat detection or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification preferred
- Proficiency with security tools: IDS/IPS, firewalls, EDR solutions, and packet analysis
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and OS hardening
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration
- Experience with NIST frameworks and compliance standards (HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
