Responsibilities
- Monitor 24/7 security operations center (SOC) alerts and incidents during weekend shifts
- Conduct forensic investigations of cyber threats using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Implement and maintain firewall rules, IDS/IPS configurations, and endpoint protection
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to remediate vulnerabilities and patch management
- Generate executive-level security incident reports and compliance documentation
- Stay current on emerging threats through continuous training and threat intelligence analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations with SOC/NOC experience
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in network security tools (Wireshark, Nmap) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (NIST, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Ability to work independently during off-hours with on-call rotation
- Excellent written communication for incident reporting and stakeholder updates
