Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems 24/7 with primary focus on weekend shifts
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents including malware, ransomware, and intrusion attempts
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Document security incidents, mitigation actions, and maintain detailed audit logs
- Conduct forensic analysis of security breaches and recommend preventive measures
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry trends through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (CEH preferred)
- Proficiency in network protocols, firewalls, and endpoint security solutions
- Strong analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical incidents under pressure
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST, SANS)
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Valid U.S. government security clearance preferred
