Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to threats
- Conduct incident investigations and coordinate forensic analysis during security breaches
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and execute security awareness training programs for employees
- Create detailed incident response plans and disaster recovery documentation
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and ISO 27001 standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Expertise in threat detection methodologies and threat intelligence platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and encryption technologies
- Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure during incidents
