Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Conduct daily vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Manage and configure firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection systems.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation (SOC 2, HIPAA).
- Investigate security breaches, perform forensics analysis, and implement remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Conduct security awareness training for employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud security (AWS/Azure).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during security incidents.
- Must be willing to work occasional nights or weekends for critical incident response.
