Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring & Detection: Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight) to identify potential intrusions or vulnerabilities in real-time.
- Incident Response: Investigate, triage, and respond to security incidents and breaches, coordinating with incident response teams to minimize impact and restore system integrity.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications, ensuring timely patching.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to internal security policies, industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001), and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Security Awareness: Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees to reduce human error and phishing risks.
- Log Analysis: Perform deep-dive log analysis to detect anomalous behavior and establish baselines for normal network traffic.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related IT field.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; equivalent experience accepted.
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM platforms, endpoint protection (EDR), and firewalls. Familiarity with scripting (Python or Bash) is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with the ability to work under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
