Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Document security incidents using NIST frameworks
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing under supervision
- Assist in implementing firewall and endpoint security solutions
- Participate in tabletop cybersecurity incident response drills
- Conduct basic security awareness training for employees
- Generate daily security operation center (SOC) activity reports
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (required for client projects)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic Linux commands
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
