Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and document detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and update security policies, procedures, and incident response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry regulations
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat analysis
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms, network security tools, and incident response methodologies
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and Windows/Linux environments
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during security incidents
- Valid U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain one
