Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Investigate security incidents and coordinate breach response protocols
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts using Python/PowerShell
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement zero-trust architectures
- Generate comprehensive security incident reports for executive stakeholders
- Stay current on emerging threats through threat intelligence feeds
- Participate in red team/blue team simulations and security drills
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
- Proficiency with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain DoD 8570 compliance certifications post-training
- Passion for continuous learning in cybersecurity domains
- Valid driver's license and ability to work on-site in Raleigh
