Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts using SIEM platforms
- Investigate and document security incidents with detailed reports
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and industry standards
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate security gaps
- Develop incident response playbooks and security awareness materials
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (degree preferred)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (sponsored by employer)
- Willingness to complete paid cybersecurity certification training
- Attention to detail and documentation skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
