Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Events: Continuously monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools to identify potential threats in real-time.
- Incident Triage: Perform initial triage and analysis of security incidents to determine severity and appropriate response actions.
- Log Analysis: Assist in the daily collection, analysis, and reporting of system logs to detect anomalies and irregularities.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date security documentation, including incident reports and risk assessments.
- Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
- Security Awareness: Support the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: No prior professional experience required. Candidates with internship experience or personal cybersecurity projects are highly preferred.
- Technical Interest: Demonstrated interest in learning networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Certifications: Willingness to obtain industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Network+ within the first year of employment.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills.
- Location: Must be willing to work on-site in San Antonio, TX.
