Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) during night shift hours
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including malware, phishing, and intrusion attempts
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Collaborate with incident response teams to develop mitigation strategies
- Document security incidents and maintain compliance with NIST and ISO 27001 standards
- Provide after-hours security coverage and escalate critical threats
- Participate in cybersecurity drills and threat intelligence briefings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SOC or incident response roles
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in network security tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and network architectures
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and endpoint protection platforms
- Willingness to relocate to San Antonio with assistance provided
