Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) during night shift hours to detect potential intrusions.
- Conduct real-time analysis of network traffic and system logs to identify suspicious activity or anomalies.
- Investigate and triage security incidents, escalating them to the appropriate level for resolution when necessary.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to ensure continuity of security operations and knowledge transfer.
- Document security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation actions in the incident response system.
- Perform routine vulnerability assessments and patch management monitoring.
- Assist in the development and testing of playbooks for automated incident response.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Current CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or SANS GCIH certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a SOC environment or network security role.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Experience with SIEM tools, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and firewall management.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high levels of focus during night shift hours.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings to stakeholders.
