Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection tools
- Investigate security incidents, determine scope, and implement containment protocols
- Perform forensic analysis of malware, phishing attempts, and intrusion vectors
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to ensure seamless security operations
- Generate detailed incident reports and remediation documentation
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing during off-peak hours
- Stay current on emerging threats and update security protocols accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years in cybersecurity operations, SOC, or threat intelligence
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security, and threat hunting
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
- Excellent written communication for incident reporting
- Experience with Windows/Linux environments and scripting (Python/Bash)
