Responsibilities
- Monitor 24/7 security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and correlate with threat intelligence feeds
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents including malware infections, phishing attacks, and unauthorized access attempts
- Perform forensic analysis on compromised systems and generate detailed incident reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and patch vulnerabilities
- Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify emerging attack vectors and zero-day exploits
- Document security procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of SOC workflows
- Participate in tabletop exercises and incident response simulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, SOC, or incident response roles
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and endpoint security platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and Windows/Linux systems
- Ability to work independently under pressure during overnight shifts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and handovers
- Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain (for government-contract roles)
