Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts across SIEM platforms during night shift hours
- Investigate security incidents using forensic tools and coordinate with day-shift teams for seamless handoffs
- Perform vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and security posture assessments
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems
- Generate incident reports and security dashboards with actionable insights for executive stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging threats and contribute to threat intelligence sharing initiatives
- Participate in emergency response drills and security protocol improvements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with proven night shift or 24/7 operations background
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent cybersecurity certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS technologies
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence frameworks
- Experience with incident response methodologies (NIST SP 800-61, ISO 27035)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight hours
- Excellent written communication skills for incident reporting and cross-team coordination
- Active NYS security clearance or ability to obtain within 30 days
