Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) for real-time threat detection and alert triage
- Lead incident response activities including containment, eradication, and recovery
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network assets
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts using Python or PowerShell
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices
- Document security incidents, forensic findings, and remediation procedures
- Stay current on emerging threats via threat intelligence feeds and research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or incident response
- Active CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Proficiency in network security tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nmap)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and zero-trust architectures
- Ability to work independently during night shift (10 PM - 6 AM CST)
- Strong written communication for incident reporting and stakeholder updates
