Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems 24/7, investigating alerts and anomalous activities
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and coordinate incident response procedures
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Generate comprehensive security reports and executive summaries for leadership review
- Collaborate with day shift team to ensure seamless security operations and knowledge transfer
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with SIEM monitoring (Splunk, QRadar)
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, and common attack vectors
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001)
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
