Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) during overnight hours
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware outbreaks and intrusion attempts
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing on client networks
- Document incident reports and provide actionable intelligence to day-shift teams
- Collaborate with forensic analysts to trace attack vectors and identify vulnerabilities
- Conduct log analysis and threat hunting across cloud and on-premise environments
- Maintain compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations or SOC environment
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, or Security+ required (CompTIA Security+ acceptable)
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS tools (Snort, Suricata), and EDR solutions
- Experience with threat intelligence feeds (MITRE ATT&CK, AlienVault OTX)
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions during high-pressure situations
- Shift flexibility with occasional overtime during major incident responses
- Clearance: Must pass background check and obtain DoD Secret clearance
