Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) during overnight hours
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents with rapid containment protocols
- Conduct forensic analysis of malware and intrusion attempts
- Collaborate with day-shift teams for seamless threat intelligence sharing
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and recommend security improvements
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing on critical assets
- Stay current with emerging threats and zero-day vulnerabilities
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with night shift or 24/7 operations background
- CISSP, CEH, or Security+ certification required (CompTIA Security+ acceptable)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, and threat intelligence platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in high-pressure scenarios
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
