Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, SolarWinds).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
- Investigate security breaches and lead the incident response process to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch vulnerabilities and secure network architecture.
- Create and maintain security documentation and training materials for staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or network security analysis.
- Professional certification such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and common attack vectors.
- Experience with Linux, Windows Server, and scripting languages (Python/Bash).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.
