Responsibilities
- Real-Time Monitoring: Analyze security alerts and logs from SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel) to identify and mitigate potential threats in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation, containment, and eradication of security breaches, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
- Threat Intelligence: Research and analyze emerging threats to update security protocols and prevent future attacks.
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with federal regulations (NIST, FISMA) and assist in annual security audits and risk assessments.
- Network Defense: Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems to safeguard network perimeters.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability scans to proactively identify and patch security weaknesses.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, Security+, CEH, or similar certification is required.
- Clearance: Must possess an active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a SOC (Security Operations Center) environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and experience with SIEM tools and scripting (Python/Bash).
- Communication: Excellent ability to articulate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
